Almost 455 experts, assistants and technicians in the police
The General Department of Forensic Evidence and Criminology at Dubai Police has uncovered thousands of complected cases and crimes, said a police senior official.
Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Investigation Affairs said that Dubai police human cadres are qualified to solve the most difficult criminal cases, indicating that Dubai Police's keenness to invest in human resources.
According to Major General Dr. Ahmed Eid Al-Mansouri, Director of the General Department of Forensic Evidence and Criminology, that a total of 455 experts, assistants and technicians, at the department was able to uncover material evidence for thousands of cases and complex crimes in a short period of time, with 173 experts and expert assistants, and 282 laboratory technicians, who hold PhD degrees. And masters and bachelors degrees in all disciplines of forensic scientific evidence.
Major General Al-Mansouri stated that the experts, their assistants and technicians diversified their specializations in important scientific fields, including: forensic chemistry, forensic medicine, genetics and DNA, acoustics examination, smart phone examination, electrical engineering, fingerprints, and "chemical display of latent fingerprints." And examination of digital documents and evidence, examination of networks and communication devices, computer software and manuals, analysis of digital video and imaging of all kinds, as well as in the science of forensic and mechanical engineering, precision effects, and explosives.
